Hello Rapids Families! Hope everyone enjoyed the first week of practice! I wanted to post a reminder that all families will need one member to work each swim meet their child/children swim in. We need need all shifts filled to be able to run a meet. Some positions require training and are most necessary to run a meet! Without these trained officials we can't have a meet. There is a great opportunity tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, June 5th) right here in Stafford at Hampton Oaks Community Center (80 North Hampton Blvd) from 4p-6p. This is the closest you will have the opportunity to train. Trained Officials are Referee, Head Timer, Clerk of Course, Starter, Data and Stroke and Turn Judges. I feel that our most needed positions are Stroke and Turn, Referee and Starter. It is always great to have a back up Ref/Starter in case of illness or travel. And the more Stroke and Turn we have the less stress I have when we have meets since we need 4 per meet, per half and last season some worked the entire meet every single time!! Let's remember the more we put into our team the more we get out. We make friends with our neighbors, the kids get some exercise and they have fun with their friends! Let's make this a great season.
