Swim Meet 101
2026 MEETS
Meets will occur on 6 Monday or Wednesday evenings in June and July. Three will be home meets and three will be away meets. The meets will start at 6pm, with warmup taking place before the meet and they are usually over by 10pm. The youngest swimmers are usually done by 8pm or so.
Swimmers are broken down into age groups; 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18.
At home meets, our team sits on the "cabana" side of the pool. We recommend bringing chairs to sit on while you are watching.
We run concessions at the home meets.
Volunteering is required. Each family must have at least one adult volunteer during the meet. Volunteering is broken down into two halves. We recommend parents with older and/or more experienced swimmers choose to volunteer the second half of the meet while parents with newer and/or younger swimmers choose the first half of the meet. Younger swimmers tend to finish their events earlier than the older swimmers.
We suggest swimmers bring extra towels, goggles, caps. It can get cold on the pool deck so don't be afraid to bring sweatshirts and sweatpants for your swimmers. Sharpies are fantastic to have for writing your swimmer's events on their arms!
The clerk of the course: this is where your swimmers must check in prior to swimming. Please listen closely to the announcements for your swimmers event number so that they can report to the clerk at the appropriate time. There will also be a numbered sign near the clerk which will show which events are reporting to the clerk at any given time.
