Swim Team Information
Hi Everyone, Swim team has officially started and things seem to be going great! This is a long email so bear with me:
1. I opened up all of the meets for the summer. You must go in into the website and either sign your child INTO or OUT OF the meet. You don't have to sign them up now but each child must be signed into or out of the meet by 72 hours prior to the meet. If your child is swimming in the meet, please remember there is a volunteer commitment and you need to volunteer at the swim meet. We break the swim meet into halves. The first half usually runs 6-7:30/8pm, the second half runs until the meet finishes which can go as late as 10pm. If you have older kids or kids you know will be swimming in later relays, please chose to volunteer in the second half of the meet and leave the first half for families with only young children or swimmers that will not be swimming relays. There is nothing worse than your child being done at 7pm and you having to stay until 10...as a reminder, our website is arrst.swimtopia.com
2. We will be hosting parent meetings, we highly suggest you attend. You only need to attend one and they will be on the following dates/times:
Friday, 10Jun22 8:45am, at the pool under the cabanas
Friday, 10Jun22 9am, at the pool under the cabanas
Friday, 10Jun22 10am, at the pool under the cabanas
Sunday 12Jun22 8pm, Zoom meeting...info will be sent in a separate email
3. For those new to the team, we have Big Fish/Little Fish. This is a program where older kids can "befriend" younger kids and the younger kids will have someone to greet them at meets and cheer for them. Usually, the big fish get a small (less than $5/10 gift) for the little fish at each meet and the little fish get a small gift for the big fish at the end of the season (usually a thank you note and gift card). The younger kids LOVE it. We usually define younger kids as 8 and under and older kids as 12 and up. This year we will be modifying our Big Fish/Little Fish program and have CO-Fish. Co-fish will be defined as 9-11 year olds who just want to have a friend to exchange gifts with at meets. Please respond to this email and let me know the following:
1. If you would like your child/children to participate in the "fish" program, with their name and ages.
2. If you would like to be the adult spearheading the "fish" program. This would require you to assign "fish" and coordinate the end of the year team gifts for the big fish.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Our first meet is fast approaching and we are SO excited!
R/Andrea
