Team Information (SIgn Swimmers up TODAY)

Hello Rapids Families!!

Thank you again to everyone for helping to fill all the jobs at the last meet. A special thanks to those that worked extra shifts and are training for those certified positions for upcoming jobs at meets. BIG SHOUT out to those who changed jobs, and those that worked a later shift than they originally chose. And for those families who worked the whole meet and supplied multiple people to fill in. NEW families…..I know sometimes it is a little overwhelming doing something you may never have done before, but everyone stepped right in and did a great job. THANK YOU.

Sorry for my multiple messages and posts but I am hoping everyone is getting the information.

Swimmers NEED to be signed INTO or OUT of each meet. So please go in and do so. This week the deadline is again Sunday at 9pm. Bianca needs time to go over each spot, assign events to each event and also make sure our relays are placed accurately. All this then is submitted and is put together with the other teams swimmers and then we have our meet set. This takes a ton of time. Once these are submitted we can’t make changes.

Another reminder, If you sign your swimmer up for a meet you are required to work a job at the meet. We have put up a list of jobs. It is broken down into 1st and 2nd half. Please note just because you might not see a job you want to work or a job during the half you want you still need to work a shift. If you don’t sign up but I see you have a swimmer I will assign you job or will have to pull your swimmer from the meet. I’m sorry I can’t accommodate everyone’s wishes. We do our best to ask families with swimmers they know will be in relays and later events to sign up for 2nd half but it’s not always possible. So, please plan accordingly when signing up your swimmers for meets.

Each family is to supply ONE person to work the meet. Most times it’s a parent, but an older sibling of the swimmer or even a friend/babysitter or relative of the family can work your spot. You need to sign yourself up and then message me telling me who is working in your place. If they do not show you are still responsible for your shift. We also have families swap with each other sometimes to make things work. Reach out and we do try to accommodate when we can. Please realize if we had to hire people for all these jobs your fees per swimmer would be in the $1000’s of dollars. This is a VOLUNTEER run team and we like to keep our fees low and have fun. (And in the event you really don’t want to work the meet but have a swimmer I am sure I can get my oldest child or maybe another teen to work in your place for a fee! ($60). But that would be your responsibility to pay them. Teens are always looking for jobs for the summer. But our Swimteam doesn’t charge our families enough to cover the number of jobs needed.

This week is a HOME MEET. So it is right here in our own pool. Please try to carpool, walk if you live close and maybe park a little further away and avoid all the no parking areas. We don’t have a ton of parking and parking gets a little scarce.

This is also the meet where we need our concession donations….we sell candy and some drinks and need water for our volunteers. If you signed up to bring items please bring them to practices this week.

We do have a pizza place coming to sell pizza. Please bring cash to buy dinner/snacks. All this helps support our team and helps us keep our fees down.

And One last thing:  WE will have TEAM PICTURE day this Thursday, June 30th at 9:00 am INSTEAD of Practice. Please have swimmers in team suits, shirts or team colors.

Thank you.
