Parents,

Every year we hold elections for new Rapids Board Members.  I am going to be honest, it is not a highly sought after position so there isn't much competition.  This year, we anticipate three/four of our long term board members leaving the team and needing to replace them.  We are looking for some parents who might be interested in joining the board and "shadowing" our current members to see what they do and how they do it.  I am including descriptions of those positions below, if this is something you think you might be interested in, let me know and I can put you in touch with that board member so you can talk it out:

VP (Fundraising): A healthy chunk of our budget comes from fundraising.  This involves reaching out to local businesses to obtain sponsorships.

VP (Everything Else): This person runs our concessions stand, and food for our events, pizza for scavenger hunt, breakfast for the swim a thon, etc

Treasurer: money!, write checks, tracks who pays us, pays our employees, deal with the bank account, the insurance, workman's comp, and coordinates with our lawyers re the 501c.

Volunteer Coordinator: this person sets up the jobs for the meets, assigns positions and ensures all positions are filled and that people actually show up for them.

President (maybe): this person deals with kay, communication, millennium pools, contracts for coaches, organizes events, etc
